Stand Out Track:   Memories

Review:
With a variety of sounds, from all out pop rock to reggae, to ballads, to pure indie brilliance, ‘Live Politics’ seemed to have covered all the bases on their debut album ‘Beg, Steal & Borrow’.

With the exquisite ballads, ‘Memories’ and ‘Not Enough Hours’, the band could easily fit into the James Morrison singer songwriter category, but they are not that sickly sweet. The raw guitar sound on ‘Water’ and the sheer power and catchiness of the opening track ‘Time Stood Still’ makes sure they have a slight edge to their songs. The Oasis influence is very apparent on both the first and last track, but the vocals carry both songs into a different category altogether. The Rock ‘n’ Soul attitude that the band seem to possess, combined with the sublime vocals, gritty guitar work and great catchy choruses, make this South London four piece a band to watch out for in 2012.
